You will be glad you got these blades
Replacement blades are a must. The razor will remind you about once a year which is fine in most cases. But, if you have a heavy beard or shave more than once a day, as I do, then you should replace the blades every 8 months or so. The reminder on the razor is only a suggestion, not a command. After all, it does not know when the blades get dull. So, I simply ignore the reminder and replace the blades when I feel it is necessary.One thing you must do is use the new blades for several days until they settle in and adjust to your skin. Until then you may have a little irritation. Another problem I have solved is the hair on my neck. I use to think the harder I press the razor, the better it would get those stray hairs. But, all I got was a rash. I discovered that if I simply use a very light touch and not press hard then it got those hairs much better and with no redness.Replace your blades at least once a year and your face with thank you.

Old into like-new1
Purchasing the Norelco HQ8 Spectra Tripleheader Replacement heads for my 5+ year-old Norelco razor was a really good move. The "old "razor" now works like a new razor. I should have replaced the heads long ago but kept using the old ones and complaining that "I need to get a new razor."

The guy who said they are not durable is incorrect
He determined they are not durable because the 'replace heads' light came on soon after he installed them. That is just because he replaced the heads early before the light came on. The light is just a timer and comes on every so many minutes of use. His new heads were fine, but he did not understand what makes the 'replace heads' light come on.

No soldering required
Bought this battery pack for my Norelco 7845XL. The battery pack can be installed without soldering if you carefully pry off the 2 metal printed circuit board to battery pack connectors from where they were electrically welded to the old batteries. This took me about 1 or 2 minutes. I did this with a small, long,thin tipped screwdriver, carefully taking my time. I chose to pry the old leads off rather then simply clip them as others have said so I would leave as much of the original metal connectors. This made it easy to "pop in " the new pattery pack ( bent it's 2 leads back 1 fold ), and make a good connection with the 2 previously pried off metal battery connectors.The shaver nows works better than new.

A Plus Batteries
I was really happy first of all that there is still batteries for these old shavers. After bending the old batteries back and forth to break off the original tabs I was expecting to solder the tabs to a pair of jumper wires, but because the batteries came with extra long tabs on them all I needed to do was to make three folds of the tab to act like a spring and just simply insert the batteries. So far after one month of use they are performing great. Would recommend these to everyone looking to save a few bucks on a new razor.

Works fine, but not a perfect fit
The batteries in my Norelco shaver were not holding a charge, so I looked for replacement batteries. I have experience with assembling and fixing electronic components, so the fact that I would have to solder in new batteries did not deter me. The Tenergy battery pack was appealing because of it's high capacity - 1000mAh - which is much more than the other replacement battery packs that I found online.Before opening the shaver, I turned it on and let the batteries run down. Opening the shaver was easy, once I had the proper tool (a Torx T-8 screwdriver). After I had removed the shaver back cover, the batteries were visible. To access the battery pack tabs I first I had to remove a U-shaped plastic bracket that one of the Torx screws mentioned above screws into. This was easy - it was held in by tabs on each the two "legs". I used needle nose pliers to slightly bend each leg, and it came right out.It's important to check the polarity of the existing...

Great budget shaver
Ever since I've received this razor I've used it exclusively -- the first time in my life I haven't had to use a regular razor to touch up areas my electric couldn't get. I bought this when my old Norelco 985RX (from about 1992 -- I think it was the top of Norelco's line) finally died. I had used that razor regularly for a first pass, then would follow with a regular safety razor as the Norelco always missed many hairs on my neck and along my jawline. Back in the early 1990's prior to using the Norelco I had used both a Remington and Braun and concluded that electric razors just couldn't completely replace a regular razor -- at least for me. So with this replacement I wasa just looking for a decent razor that would allow me to do that first pass. When I tried it I was pleasantly surprised that it got most of the hairs -- with a bit of manipulation I found it got almost all of them. (I find it's still hard to get a perfect line up by my sideburns but it's good enough.) I don't know...

Here's the buzz....
Ordered this for my hubby a few days before Christmas. While it didn't arrive in time to be under the tree, he was thrilled! Always loyal to Norelco, I knew I wouldn't go wrong there...he charged it right up and gave it a whirl and pronounced it "just what I wanted...". I was dubious about buying an electronic from a private dealer, but it was in the original packageing and did have all the warranty info..., so I feel I got what was advertised at less thatn half the cost. I hope that if proves its worth and value, but time will tell.Janet Smith
