I'm impressed +READ for a blade-extending TIP!
I've been very happy with the Mach III for the past few years --but then a Fusion razor and cartridge came in the mail and I figured I'd give it a try.I'm probably a good one to test razors... see my photograph--not only do I shave my face, (though I typically have a goatee), but I also shave my entire head as well.I've been using the same Fusion blade now --daily on my face, and just about every third day on my head-- and despite some claims to the contrary, it's still going strong... after almost three weeks!!Why has my blade lasted this long, despite my pretty heavy usage? EVERY time I shave, after thoroughly rinsing the blade, I GIVE IT A QUICK SPRAY WITH SHOWER CLEANER. (Such as "Clean Shower" or any of the no-wipe cleaners that you spray after using the shower.)Then I set the razor so it's standing with the cartridge end down. This does two things. The shower cleaner ensures that no film of water remains to dry on the...

no question, best razor EVER
I shave about every other day due to skin irritation from other razors that I have used. I purchased a Gillette Fusion razor with a $4 off coupon out of the Sunday news, and that gave me the razor for about $1 after the in-store rebate. This is easily the best razor I have ever owned/used. One pull of the razor across my face makes the skin unbelievably smooth. I won't be switching to anything else after buying this product.TIPS:Don't throw the cartridges out after the aloe "indicator" strip fades - that thing is useless junk added on to make you replace the blades more often than is necessary. Keep a bottle of alcohol handy with your shaving supplies. The thing that dulls most razor blades quickly is hard water deposits of calcium and other minerals that build up on the blades when they dry after rinsing. They key to getting the most use out of the blades is to rinse the water off with alcohol after use, and then let the blades air dry. I can get...

Make a Blade Last 6 Months
The Gillette Fusion is a great blade but doesn't last long. I found a secret that makes a blade last 4-6 months. After shaving, rinse the blades well, knock the loose water from the blade by taping on a dry towel and then blow on it until it is very dry. Shaving does not make the blade wear out---rust does. Leaving the blade wet will lead to micro-rust in a few days so figure out how to dry it after using and it will stay very sharp for months. Try it and you will see.

handy
I've been using single edge razor blades for over 40 years. They are perfect for delicate jobs that a utility knife is too big for. A hundred lasts quite a while and is more economical than those 5-packs.

Works!
Blades...they're sharp, they cut, they're cheap, and they're replaceable. I'll continue to buy these over and over again as long as they're available.

These are good blades. They cut, dull and rust just as fast as any other blade that I've used. For some reason I was expecting to receive US-made blades but the ones that I received were made in Mexico.

Lives up to its reputation for sharpness, but the warnings are overstated
Feathers have a reputation for being the sharpest blade, but also the one that lends itself to the most nicks, the one that requires the most skill to handle. So far I've tried three blades - Merkurs were dull and gave an awful shave as well as a number of nicks (due to me trying to shave closer and applying pressure and taking many passes), Derby's are excellent but do tend to irritate my skin a bit after I've gone against the grain. With Derby's, I have to do a number of passes to get a good shave, so irritation is unavoidable. The Feather I just shaved with gave me a great shave just by going with the grain. I would probably be happy enough with that on most days, but surprised that I had no nicks given that I'm a relative newbie to DE shaving and Feathers are supposed to be like samurai swords, only to be handled by the masters, I then decided to go against the grain for some extra closeness. The only nick was on my neck where I had a big razor bump (or a pimple?) and the blade,...

By far my favorite
I've spent the last few months trying various blades: 7 AM, Derby, Astra, Merkur, Gilette Swedes (these *were* my favorite), Sharp, and several other brands. The Feather blades win hands-down for me. They are the sharpest and best at keeping their edge that I've used.Though as others have warned, be careful or you'll wind up with your fair share of nicks. But if you pay attention, you'll get a very close and satisfactory shave.

Sharp Japanese Steel
I purchased these blades (along with some Derby blades) a few days after receiving my Merkur long-handled safety razor.Because of new job opportunities, I had to return to shaving after growing out and wearing a full beard for over a year. I dislike conventional shaving so much that it was one of the several reasons why I've grown out my beard in the past. When deciding to shave off my beard again, I promised myself I would make shaving more enjoyable than I'd experienced with those useless cartridge and electric razors I've wasted my money on. Of course, my research led me to wet-shaving with a double edge safety razor.I was apprehensive to use these blades at first. I'd read so many reviews about these being "ninja sharp" and "not for beginners" I was willing to wait patiently as I retaught myself how to shave. I was developing my technique and getting comfortable with the Derby blades all while the Feathers sat on the shelf.Finally,...

Beats the fusion
When I first heard the ProGlide was coming out, I was a bit skeptical on how it could be that much better than the regular Fusion. As is turned out, the ProGlide is better and noticeably so. There is definitely much less resistance when sliding this across my face. It also seems like I'm been getting a closer shave. The best part of the ProGlide is that your can use your old Fusion handles to attach the blades onto. No need to buy special ProGlide handles. The only bad part that I have noticed so far is that the ProGlide seems to wear down much faster than the old Fusion. I have to replace the ProGlide blades about a week earlier than I used to with the old Fusion.

BEST OF THE BEST
ive tried everything to help decrease irritation as least as possible i switched to these and im satisfied on how good they work.you feel less drag when cutting the hairs and i hardly get bumps since i switched. they last pretty long i usually shave every two or three days and its been almost a month and i havent changed it yet and they still work pretty good they are pretty expensive so i try to make them last but in the store theyre almost 30 somewhat dollars for eight. (i know they're good but damn) I found them on here for 10 bucks cheaper and theyre delivered pretty fast will definitely purchase them on here for now on ...

If you're using Fusion, don't bother with the "upgrade"
I travel quite a bit and keep the old Gilette Sensor Excel in my travel case, as well as the Fusion system at home. My beard is thick, black hair; a true test for any of these razor systems. Fusion has worked the best for me so far after having tried quite a few different blades. I was happy with it but when I went to go pick up blades last time, I thought I would give this one a try. While this is a good blade and a very smooth system, I don't really notice much (if any) of an improvement over the Fusion system. The blades are even more expensive than Fusion so I'm going to have to to pass. Because shaving is such a personal thing, I"m sure everyone will have their own opinion on these blades but for me, this was more cost with no additional value over the Fusion.

Beautiful, smooth shave
When I dumped my electric razor about a year ago, I bought a sample pack of DE blades featuring all the well-known brands. After experimenting with them all I kept coming back to Astra platinum. They leave my face baby-smooth and don't cause the red, irritated bumps that some of the other blades left behind. Astra has since been my one and only brand. Now, that being said, just because these blades are perfect for my face does not mean they will be perfect for yours. Your face may be better suited to Derby, Merkur, Feather, etc. My recommendation if you're new to wet shaving: start with a sample pack and find the blade that works best for you.

Great Double Edged Razor Blades
I am a beginner in the luxurious world of double edged razor blade shaving with a safety razor. I initially purchased a razor blade sampler pack, and found that these Astra's are among the smothest blades I've shaved with. I know quite a few people love their Derbys, but, I prefer these blades because not only are they smooth but they are also very forgiving if you have sensitive skin like me. My shave set up includes Art of Shaving lavender shaving cream and a Merkur Progress safety razor.Pick up these blades - you really can't go wrong as they will give you a silky smooth shave. If you'd like a closer shave, I would recommend FEATHER blades. They are platinum coated as well for a smooth finish to your shave. However, please please please be careful with FEATHER blades, as they are EXTREMELY SHARP and one wrong move and you'll be in the Emergency Room.

After sampling many blades, these are my preferred...
I've been DE shaving for over a year now, and when I started I purchased a sampler pack. I know everyone has different needs and preferences, but I found these to be excellent for sensitive skin. They work great in my old Gillette Adjustable razors, but these really started to shine with my new Edwin Jagger D89LBL. What a combo. 2 pass shave, smooth as can be! And for under $15.00, I use them for 2 shaves and move on. So, let's see, $14.00/100= 14 cents a piece/2 = 7 cents a shave. Ummm, sorry multiblade junk, I'll be buying these from now on.

Razor Blades

Police Inspector Spiridione Zammit said the accused was a 'serial shoplifter' but in almost all cases only stole razor blades. Defence lawyer Renzo Porsella Flores and the inspector both agreed that the accused needed help, to which the accused said that he did not. Magistrate Anthony Vella remarked that the accused had another similar case pending before him as well as a number of convictions for similar crimes, and he therefore could not be trusted. I am sorry to say, but have to say it - the thief looked like someone from Eastern Europe so presumably, he is here legitimately. Here in London we cannot pick razors off the self-service shelves any more. The thief knows the store very well, taking advantage of the layout. He - the thief, the shoplifter - abandoned the trolley and the manager wheeled it back to the store. If schoolchildren are sick enough to knife and kill a fellow-student in broad daylight(school having just finished) on a crowded mainline station like Victoria(London), to them shoplifting is a piece of cake, a bit of a lark. They shop to order asking someone else to take the risk. So they are stolen to order like so much else.

There’s the magic placement that comes out of absolutely nowhere, the candidate that accepts the perfect new role you found them only to come back to you the next day to sheepishly inform you they have accepted a counter-offer, the perfect match...   But in the recruitment world you are always only one submerged iceberg away from disaster… in hindsight Why Recruitment is like the Titanic would have probably been a far more apt and accurate title…. ‘Ring, Ring’… (That is an improvised sound effect for the telephone – I should have used my actual mobile phone ring tone… ’Dark in the city night is a wire, Steam in the subway earth is afire do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…’ but I... Nick texted me five (that’s right 5) minutes before the meeting informing me there had been an emergency and he wasn’t going to make it to the meeting. Here’s an example of the recruitment roller coaster that happened in our office last month… Obviously, I am shortening the process, leaving out the boring bits for the purpose of keeping the narrative flowing blah, blah, blah , but I hope it makes... We had a great meeting with ‘Nick’ today, we really see him adding value to the team…’ This was the third meeting over two weeks. The one where you know the placement is going to happen…starts in your stomach and spreads… ‘We just want him to come back tomorrow for a rubber stamp meeting with the MD.   Ultimately the call is mine. I’m going to let you in on a little secret… the reason I didn’t go with the Titanic title is because I can’t stand Leonardo  DiCaprio… or Kate Winslet for that matter.

Under the previous wholesale model, e-books were sold in the same way as physical books: the books are sold to the retailer by the publisher, and the retailer is allowed to set whatever price they choose. Under the agency model, publishers set the price of e-books, and the retailer gets 30% of the price. Let’s pause here and look at the other term we said needed to be explained: “freebie marketing”, sometimes called the razor-and-blades business model. But, over a nine month period, the lysine price-fixing scheme had managed to raise prices on farmers 70%. Examples of these pairings include printers and ink cartridges, cell phones and service contracts, game consoles and games, and yes, razor handles and blades. The government alleges that by adopting the agency model, Apple and the publishers colluded to raise e-book prices. In the case of Apple and the publishing houses, the DOJ says that their “agency model” is a price-fixing scheme. This model caused concern for publishers because Amazon was selling e-books at or below wholesale in order to drive sales of their Kindle e-reader, a practice which Barnes Noble also adopted when they released their own Nook e-reader. Once the agency model agreements with Apple were in place, the publishers were able to strong-arm Amazon and Barnes Noble into similar agreements. This marketing scheme is based on the idea of selling one item at a low price, even below cost or free, but making profit on a complementary item.
