great little shaver
I don't generally write reviews, but after reading some of these, I felt I needed to share a little. I have been using the Seiko Cleancut for my underarms daily for at least 4 years, if not longer. In that time, the only problems I have had with ingrown hairs have been when I ended up using a disposable razor for whatever reason. And that was a constant battle before the Cleancut.The only thing I have ever had to replace on it is batteries. And they seem to last quite awhile. I noticed a tiny chunk out of the plastic holding the blades a few days ago, which is why I was looking on here. The blades are still nice and sharp, but the plastic is beginning to give out. I figure that's fairly amazing, given the flimsey-ness and all that so many have complained about.Yes, there is the occassional hair that you may have to work at (or cut with something else) due to the characteristics of that particular hair (lying flat against the skin, funky curl, etc), but...

Maybe the problem is...
I love this shaver. I have used several different types, and this is definately the best for size, shape, and effectiness. I have not found it to be more or less flimsy than any other brand I have used. The little round, domed head fits well with all of the curves on a female body, which I have not found to be the case with any other shaver.I have pale, translucent, skin with dark hair. Typically, even after shaving, the dark hair still shows through my skin. This shaver shaves so close that I don't get that ugly effect, yet I still don't get ingrown hairs. It's like magic.However, I have noticed that where hair is growing at an angle that lays flatter to the body, and is a bit longer than it should be, the shaver is not as effective and I have to go over and over, sometimes pressing lightly and flicking the shaver against the hair growth to get all of the hairs. Best trimmer/shaver ever!
Whoa. When I saw that there was a video review option, I wanted to make a video of trimming my pubic area just to show how positively nice this little trimmer is, but that probably wouldn't go over so well.... So, here is my written review instead. :)This nice little trimmer is very close to a shaver, in fact, because it does remove almost all of the hair. In specific areas, such as on the front of the pubic bone, where the surface is harder, all of the hair is trimmed. On softer areas, where you must pull the skin tighter, it shaves extremely close. Still not all the way down, which I love, because it avoids ingrown hairs and razor bumps, but the hair is so small it's almost undetectable.The shape and size of the shaver makes it extremely easy to manage around the delicate curves around that area, and in the months I've had it, I have only nicked myself twice when I wanted to do a quick job of trimming. Yes Guys This Is The One
This is the first review I have written among the hundreds of items I have purchased over the years here at Amazon. I am so pleased with this product I just felt compelled to write. First... note I am a guy, and yes I like to keep my personal space tidy (my wife loves it) and have been searching for an easy way to do this for years. Every product of this type I have tried that claimed would not cut or nick you has been bogus. I am here to tell you this one isn't. This product has given me incredible confidence for this task. It will not nick or cut you and gets close enough to matter. If you have been searching for something like this, the reviews don't lie, this product is outstanding and I highly recommend it. As a side note, again for the guys I recommend getting the T-Shape handle version instead of the straight one, it makes reach and maneuvering much easier.

I highly recommend this trimmer.
This neat little trimmer has been available for years in Japan, and has now come to the United States. It is a battery operated trimmer (one AA battery, which is included!), and is designed to fit comfortably in the hand. The shaving head itself is well designed, and has never given me even the smallest of cuts.The small size of the head makes it ideal for trimming eyebrows and the bikini area, and even allows for detailed trimming, for when you want to get creative in your trimming. Now, this is a trimmer and not a shaver, so chances are that you will want to follow up with your regular shaver to get rid of any residual stubble.I love my Femini (where did they get that name, though?), and use it all the time. This is the Lexus of shavers! When you first pick up the Seiko Cleancut, you know this is a serious shaver. It is heavy compared to low-cost shavers, and that is because it has a quality motor. Great Little Shaver
This personal shaver is worth the price. It cuts as closely as this type can without leaving nasty red bumps. It does a good job on the carrot and the plums as well as the entire bikini area. Best results if you shave every other day or even 2 days between shaves. My wife and I have used this for over 2 months and still on the first battery. Glad we tried it nothing nicer than a smooth bikini area.

Definitely worth the price
*****Update to Review 03/15/12: It has been nearly 4 years since I purchased this shaver, and I wanted to come back and update this. Our shaver is still going strong, and we are still as happy with it as we were when I first wrote this review. I DO want to add a note regarding the reviews which say this shaver does not shave well, however. Ladies & gentlemen - this is a PERSONAL shaver. That means it is not going to tear through your half-inch long hairs. That means it is intended for small, delicate areas of skin that have very, very, very short hairs. That means it is intended to be used IN CONJUNCTION with other shaving implements as a finishing tool - not as the primary hair removal method. Even the description of the product itself makes this clear - hair no longer than a 5 o'clock shadow. I really like my Seiko Cleancut and think the world of it as a shaver. Finally, though, the foil head began to come apart, and I started to get scratched by it. So, I got this replacement kit. It contains a replacement foil, a replacement blade (I would imagine that whenever the foil begins to get damaged by the blade that the opposite happens as well), and a new plastic cap (which is so easy to lose).The Cleancut is a nice razor, and too expensive to throw away just because the foil begins to go, which makes this kit a must. I found the new parts to be easy to install, and I think that this is a great kit. Got a Cleancut that is starting to show its age? No Nicks and Easy To Use
I bought this trimmer after reading a review somewhere else on how the Seiko S-Yard product line was very good in general, and that this item in particular is great because of the unusual shape.I've had it for a day now and I like it tremendously. Please note that it is a TRIMMER, and not a SHAVER. That said, it trims very close to the skin, so this is not a product to use if you're trying to get a certain length of hair.For the bikini area, female private parts, and the *ahem* "rear door" it's perfect for me. Shaving always results in itchy stubble growing back and is very difficult to do on that uneven terrain down there. The Shavy Femini has a flat, toothbrush-like head, and is easy to maneuver in tight spots. This trimmer did not nick me even once, even on the most challenging parts of skin.
