Razor Gift Set
I purchased this as a gift for my 84 year old Father. He has arthritis and had been having difficulty getting a close shave. Dad has never worn a beard and, as he likes to tell it, "During WWII in the Pacific, as soon as I got water, I shaved. I kept my feet dry and my beard gone."I bought him an electric razor, but he didn't like it. I bought him different shave creams and razors, but he looked scraggly. I kept reading different reviews about what might work.I finally found this set on Amazon. I liked the design of the Razor Stand because it would hold both the brush and razor. Keeping these dry is important. I figured if he didn't like the soap and bowl, I could go back online and look for others.He LOVES everything! He keeps telling me that he is getting the best shave he has ever gotten. He no longer gets a "five o'clock" shadow. Closest shave while still keeping your top layers of skin ; )
I am in the military and have thick facial hair. That being said, it is important for me to have a nice, clean shaved face 5-6 days out of the week. After reading the reviews on safety razors I decided to put the multi-razor heads aside and purchased this kit for myself. At first I wasn't too pleased with it until I finally learned how to use it properly.Now that I have gotten the hang of it, and not finishing with cuts here and there, I think its awesome. Its the closest shave I've ever had and doesn't leave razor burn like the fuzion that I was using previously. The kit may seem a little pricey, but considering that you can purchase a hundred double edge blades for around 10 dollars really helps eliminate the chance of buyers remorse. Especially when it costs 10-14 dollars for a set of 3 replacement fuzion heads that only last about a week and a half per.I do suggest Googling "how to shave w/ a safety razor" to spare yourself and your skin the torture I went...

Good product - especially for the price
I bought this for my son who wanted to have a "classic shaving experience." The set looks good and is well constructed. It is a good starter set. The soap is not included so be sure to add that to your order. (Or you can get it at about any drug store with a decent men's section. The cake shaving soap is usually on the bottom shelf.

Come back in three years
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 16 year old grandson who shaves his peach fuzz about once a week. He wanted an electric razor but I told him that since he drove a "manly" stick shift pickup truck he should shave like a man too, no wimpy electric razors for my progeny. The set is totally cool looking, even better than I expected. The kid was pretty impressed though I had to show him how to use shaving soap that doesn't come out of a can. How does it shave? Darned if I know. Ask me again in about three years when he's actually shaving 2 or 3 times a week. I do know that I'm going to get one of these for myself as soon as I use up the 10 cans of shaving gel that were bundled together at Costco.

Good gift for someone who might like Art of Shaving
I already use Art of Shaving pre-shave oil, shaving cream, and their upper end badger brush. I have always liked these and especially in the lavender scent. Lavender is so calming and girls always comment on the smell. The pre-shave oil is were it is at especially if you get razor burn easily.I bought these for groomsmen's gifts with a dopp bag. It was a good way to expose them to this product without investing in the sampler or a full kit. The positive feedback I got from these guys were: great scent, like the pre-shave oil, and like the after shave balm. The less-positive feedback I got was: the shaving cream does not later well and the brush falls apart.The brush is pretty low end when compared to even AofS's low-end/regular sized brushes. Others have mentioned the same thing so I would not expect to travel with this and expect a high performer. It is best for getting your foot in the door to see if you like it.I use the shaving cream soap bar...

A Perfect Shaving line...forrr Midgets.
I loved the scent of this. But when I opened it...I thought elves have made it a little early for christmas. I admired the gentle design. I tried it, and loved it. The shaving cream goes on smooth. It really helps to get an "effortless glide" when swiping the razor. That is...the highlight. It lets you know you got a quality product on your hand, or face. The pre-oil is ok, I still had some overall redness. The after shave balm was great...it smelled great and left a smooth tan glow on your skin that I applied to my whole face afterwards. Overall, the size seemed small but turns out will last me a long time. Like they say, a little goes a long way. Buy this product if you wanna save (bout $30 from the site) and try it out, and get the perfect shave, the art of shaving.

I'm talking James Bond classy
This thing is awesome if you want to shave and look like a badass mofo. The blades are cheap, so it somewhat pays for itself in the end. Be ready to Freddy Krueger the hell out of your face if you have never spent the time to slowly shave or if you are used to shaving in the shower. You will get used to it within a day or two (the razor, not the bleeding). In the long run, this will make you like classy as balls... like James Bond classy.

An excellent combination

This is made entirely of PLASTIC!
It works fine and looks ok but it is made out of plastic.Also, the shaver is too large to remove a new blade from the pack...so you have to use another to pull it out.

Birthday gift for my nephew
I bought this for my 5 y/o nephew who has been trying to copy his dad and grandpa by using a Gillete razor handle without the razor head. This is safe for him but the handle leaves his little face red and irritated.I remember my brothers had these when they were younger but they are harder to find in stores today.My nephew loved it but I was disappointed by it. It is very cheaply made. I would be surprised if it lasts a week in which case I will return it. The $16 pricetag is basically for the play razor itself.My biggest issue with this is the suction cup that is used to hold the mirror in place. It is poorly made and we couldn't get the mirror to stick on the wall behind the sink or on the bathtube tiles.There is a bottle of shampoo, hairgel, and shaving cream included. I think it would be better for them to take out the shampoo and hairgel and spend the extra money making a better quality mirror and razor.3 stars overall...
