Won't shave without it anymore
I love this product. I never used preshave oil before, just the standard gel shaving cream from gillete and i'll have to say i missing out on a closer and more comfortable shave. Really a great product,,,and sure i've read plenty of do-it-yourselfers here post reviews about how cheaper it can be if you make the oil yourself. But the same can be true for anything like changing your motor oil, sneaking in popcorn at the movies, bringing your own slice of cheese when ordering a regular hamburger, but personally i'd rather pay a little more for convenience, i've got plenty of other everyday things to worry about than trying to save a little chump change here and there.

Shaving cream
I shave everyday and it has lasted me a year. The only way to make it last this long is to use a brush to apply it. You will need 1/4 as much then when trying to apply by hand. make sure brush and face are damp first, will really help cream to lather up.JH

Best shaving product I've used!
This is a great gell and I recommend it. The first jar I bought lasted a little over a year, but I average a shave only every-other-day. You need only a little, about a dime-sized dab, to work up a great lather.

Great cream, but doesn't last long.
This is an amazing shaving cream and comes in many amazing scents. It makes a great gift for men who love to pamper themselves. My only problem with the cream is that one container will only last a few months, making it an expensive investment. However, your skin is baby soft after each shave. I also noticed a decreased amount of ingrown hairs with each shave. +++

Great shaving product
This give an excellent finish to a shave. I strongly suggest using the shaving oil as well. Apply hot water to dilate your pores, then apply the oil, then shaving cream, shave, and finally the after shave balm. The oil and balm make for an amazing shaving experience. Your face feels incredibly smooth afterward. I don't use it every day because it is a little more time consuming that just applying the shaving cream alone, but I do use the products above most of the time because of the great feel after.

Awesome product !!!
I have been using this product since the last 10 odd months and the difference it has made in my morning shaving routine is just priceless. I have the entire kit, with the pre-shave oil, shaving cream, lathering brush and this after-shave balm (lavender). I also have the art of shaving book. This was my wonderful wife's gift to me on my birthday and I can't thank her enough. The book actually improved my shaving technique and my skin over a period of time...I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to enjoy shaving!!!

Good balm but why so expensive?
I don't want to sound so girly here, but I do have a sensitive skin. So whenever I shave, I ended up bleeding all over and it takes time for my face to heal. Darn. I've used this product for about a year now, and definitely has helped my skin calm down and heal better. Maybe it's all in my head, but I religiously use this balm after I shave to protect and heal my skin. Very good product, like it a lot cuz no scent and feels light. But does it have to be so expensive?

Only cream I will ever use!
As a shaving enthusiast, I refuse to waste a ton of money on disposable blades that provide a crappy shave, and thus I shave with a strait razor(purchased from Art of Shaving). The Art of Shaving Shaving Cream is by far the best cream I have found so far, and well worth every penny. It lasts for quite a while when used correctly, leaves a pleasant sent, and helps protect from razor burn while providing for a close, comfortable shave. In order to be used correctly (and to last) this cream MUST be used with a brush. To use:1.) wet the brush and shake off the excess water.2.) apply a VERY small amount to the tip of the brush.3.) work into a lather on your face.After a few strokes, you will develop a very rich lather with very minimal product-I shave every other day and I go through a max of two containers of this stuff each year. If you are covering your brush with cream, you are wasting the product as well as your money...

One of the Best Products Ever
The price of this shaving cream is misleading. Shaving an average of two or three times a week using a badger hair brush gives me over a year of shaving on a single container. I still have a few shaves left in the last one I bought -- on May 7th 2010. Aside from the admirable service life, this shaving cream is so much better than anything in a can that it really is not fair to even lump it into the same category as canned cream.I started thinking about the specifics of why it is superior to other products and decided to sum it up thusly:It is superior in every way. The way it feels, the way it smells, the value for your money... everything.I would recommend a brush to apply it. It is not mandatory but I think it may help use the cream more efficiently.

Good gift for someone who might like Art of Shaving
I already use Art of Shaving pre-shave oil, shaving cream, and their upper end badger brush. I have always liked these and especially in the lavender scent. Lavender is so calming and girls always comment on the smell. The pre-shave oil is were it is at especially if you get razor burn easily.I bought these for groomsmen's gifts with a dopp bag. It was a good way to expose them to this product without investing in the sampler or a full kit. The positive feedback I got from these guys were: great scent, like the pre-shave oil, and like the after shave balm. The less-positive feedback I got was: the shaving cream does not later well and the brush falls apart.The brush is pretty low end when compared to even AofS's low-end/regular sized brushes. Others have mentioned the same thing so I would not expect to travel with this and expect a high performer. It is best for getting your foot in the door to see if you like it.I use the shaving cream soap bar...

A Perfect Shaving line...forrr Midgets.
I loved the scent of this. But when I opened it...I thought elves have made it a little early for christmas. I admired the gentle design. I tried it, and loved it. The shaving cream goes on smooth. It really helps to get an "effortless glide" when swiping the razor. That is...the highlight. It lets you know you got a quality product on your hand, or face. The pre-oil is ok, I still had some overall redness. The after shave balm was great...it smelled great and left a smooth tan glow on your skin that I applied to my whole face afterwards. Overall, the size seemed small but turns out will last me a long time. Like they say, a little goes a long way. Buy this product if you wanna save (bout $30 from the site) and try it out, and get the perfect shave, the art of shaving.
